About Me
Originally in the IT industry, Colin quickly moved to lecturing on a wide range of business related IT topics up to University level and this formed the bedrock of his skills in event design, facilitation and presentation.

Moving to the public sector in 1990 he has worked as Senior Advisor to government departments such as the Office of the Deputy Prime Minster, successfully managing high impact initiatives in Business Improvement, Procurement and Information Exchange and in 2006 designed and presented a series of events on the transformation of public services in association with the Cabinet Office. He is passionate about the future of public services and believes that effective internal and external communication programmes are vital to their modernisation.

In demand as a keynote speaker he has presented at international conferences in Lithuania, Italy, Finland, Denmark and Ireland and worked with the governments of Lesotho and Macedonia on their modernisation programmes.

In the UK he has been involved in the design of events and dissemination programmes for the Department of Trade and Industry, and the Department of Work and Pensions and has worked with a number of high profile Government Ministers and Chief Executives on initiatives such as eGovernment and the introduction of age regulations in the workplace. Recently he has given keynote presentations on organisational transformation at the UK Government IT Summit, eGovernment Summit, IT Futures Conference and the Merseyside Community Leaders Conference, and has broadcast experience with the internet based Government TV.

His expertise is not however confined to the public sector and he is in demand as a conference designer, chair and facilitator for private sector companies such as LloydsTSB, Apex, RSLive, Proactis, OB10, Revolution and NQ Consulting. He has also designed and facilitated management development and visioning events for corporate and public sector clients, large and small. Through his wife’s charitable work he has designed and delivered marketing sessions on a voluntary basis for the international women’s fund raising organisation, Soroptimist International.

His work often involves managing events and workshops with challenging agendas and topics where a flexible and adaptable approach is vital in ensuring that fundamental issues are exposed and debated.

Colin’s interests include music (he plays guitar and writes songs) and photography, and he has combined his hobbies to work with up and coming bands, providing free publicity photos of their live performances. He lives in Staffordshire with his wife and springer spaniels.
